The following requirements for disaster relief insurance claims adjusters must be satisfied:

(1) There is a disaster event declared by the U.S. president, state statute or local ordinance.

(2) The disaster event is (a) at a site that has be assigned a catastrophe serial number by the property claims service of the American insurance services group or (b) an association of insurance companies that represents at least 15% of the U.S. property causality market confirms that the property damage is over $5 million (can be an estimated total amount) and represents a significant number of claims.

(3) The person must be an independent claims adjuster or be employed by a Canadian or Mexican insurance company.

Economist

The economist under the TN visa should be doing work such as conducting research, formulating plans or preparing reports to address economic problems related to fiscal and monetary policies or to the production and distribution of goods and services. Occupations such as financial analysts, market research analysts, or market specialists are not included in the economist classification under the TN visa.

Unlike most NAFTA positions, a scientific technician or scientific technologist under the TN visa do not require specific degrees or licenses but the person must be working for a supervisor who is a professional. The theoretical knowledge required of the scientific technician or scientific technologist under the TN visa should be obtained by at least 2 years of training in an educational program (e.g., vocational programs, professional certificates).

Most health care workers (not physicians) under the TN visa must provide a health care certificate (VisaScreen Certificate) that show they satisfy certain educational and English language requirements.

Health care workers that must provide a health care certificate under the TN visa are:

· Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, licensed vocational nurses

· Physical therapists

· Physician assistants

· Occupational therapists

· Medical Technicians (clinical laboratory technicians)

· Medical technologists (clinical laboratory scientists)

· Speech language pathologists and audiologists

Registered nurses can alternatively provide a certified statement from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) or approved credentialing organization that verifies the person (1) has a valid and unrestricted state license, (2) passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) exam, (3) foreign license, and (4) graduated from a qualified nursing program.

Occupational therapists can alternatively provide a visa credential verification certificate from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NCBOT).

Physical therapists and physiotherapists can alternatively provide a comprehensive credentials evaluation from the Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy (FCCPT).

Some examples of health care workers that do not need to provide a health care certificate under the TN visa:
